Football for the Cricket Club - AFC Mymms is born!

AFC Mymms - Update - 4th June 2009

League:

We attended the league AGM last week, and have now completed the signup forms and paid our initial deposit, so we are in! To all those who expressed an interest who haven't paid, we require a £30 sub by the end of next week. Thank you to all of you who have paid already.

This money is being used for deposit on pitch hire, league fees and Herts FA affiliation costs etc...

Players needed!

If you haven't contacted me yet, then what are you waiting for! dan.boucher@btinternet.com or 07828088471

This idea is that this is a football club for the cricket club, however it is hoped that if we let a few individuals come to play football for us, we can get their interest/ blackmail them into playing cricket. If you know anyone who would fit into the "Mymms" spirit, please get them to call me and I will get them involved on one proviso...............they play at least 1 game of cricket before the end of the season! We need all the players we can get!

Ground:

We are negotiation with Chancellors School, but there are several sticking points (mainly changing rooms), and this is 70/30 against right now.

If you have any contacts and could recommend a suitable ground, please let me know. We have a back up option we can take up near the QE2 hospital, but I want to keep it in, or close to North Mymms, not WGC!

Sponsorship:

AFC Mymms will be sporting the logo of a local company some of you may know...Spartan Haulage! Thanks to Ian Bright for helping us to keep on truckin'

Training:

The season starts in September, and we will unveil some weekly training starting in late July/ early August. Chris Cook is presently dreaming up some "light" runs for us all!

If we get subs in then it is possible we can get some nice foldaway goals to use at the club too.

I will keep you updated each week, but we are getting there!
