Due to availability difficulties, the 4th XI has been withdrawn from the league. The club exited from the County Cup, in chasing an unlikely 303 to win, we slumped to 97 all out. Another blank Saturday as all three teams lost and the 4th XI dropped out of the league.

4th XI

The 4th XI was forced to forfeit three matches this season due to a lack of numbers. Under these circumstances, the league are entitled to request a club to withdraw a team  however we decided to pull out as there were no immediate sign of improvement. The committee would like to thank the league for their understanding and also Darren Medforth for running the team.

1 car park ticket

LV - County Championship Div 1

Kent vs Lancashire

Friday 20th August 2010

4 tickets for a day's cricket at the Rose Bowl in 2010 Includes car parking Person can choose a day from the LV - County Championship or a Pro40 League Match

All proceeds from the auction go to the club.

Closing date is Wednesday 21st July when the highest bidder for each set of tickets will be the winner.

Fantasy League News - current standings

The first team lead the charge with the top 3 spots taken by Messers Black, Bagshaw and His Royal Highness. All points are based on all results loaded onto play-cricket.com. There are 7 results from various fixtures that are not on play-cricket which have not been accounted for but which we are trying to get onto play-cricket. This month’s transfer deadline is at midnight on Thursday, and I would take the opportunity to tinker whilst you can. All transfers need to be sent to mymmsfcl@googlemail.com, I will not accept verbal transfer changes when you see me at the club! Remember: 1 Transfer per Team, per Month!

The Sunday Club XI triumphed in the gathering gloom in a low scoring match. Hatfield put on 151 - 6 in 40 overs with Ben Carter and Darren Medforth taking two wickets apiece with Jon Mather and Ben Howell picking up the other two. In the Mymms reply, Ben Howell departed early leaving fellow opener Peter Tyler and skipper Jon Mather to put on a stand of 54. The third wicket saw rising star Jordan Carter and Mr. Tyler add a further 48. After a couple of wobbles Ben Carter and Mark Topham saw the team home with two overs left.  Full scorecard is on our Play Cricket site.

On Saturday, London Colney were the visitors and posted 233 - 4. Wickets for Steve Thomas, Ian Lawless and Chris Prince plus a run out by Neil Black. Mymms reached the target in the 39th over. Major contributions of 97 from Mark Saxby and 45 by Steve Thomas.

Our Sport Relief event attracted some 150 runners many of whom chose to run three or six miles. The weather was kind and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Local M.P. Grant Shapps opened the event. One of our colts, Daniel Cook (8) ran three miles. Thank you to everyone who helped on the day and who took part raising money for a great charity.

Next Colts fundraising event is a Race Night on Friday 11th June 2010. Details here.

One really important way that everyone can help the club is by being a member of the 100 Club. There are currently slots available and Hattie would be delighted to hear from you. The cost is slightly over £1 a week which buys very little nowadays and there is a chance of a return in your investment! Payment may be made monthly or annually.

Strong concern was expressed at the AGM regarding outstanding monies owed to the club. Please pay any outstanding subs etc now.
